Language Requirement

This role is worked in German. Our internal working language and every customer conversation is German, so business-fluent German is required. English is a plus, not a requirement. This English listing exists so you can read the role before you apply.

We Keep Growing

Our customer base is growing, so we're strengthening our sales team. What we need for that we build out together – you'll help shape our sales process rather than work off a finished script.

Your Role

PAXLY runs packaging procurement for mid-market companies as a managed service: our customers put their packaging demand out to tender through us instead of negotiating it themselves – we bring the cost down and then hold it at a fair market price. We earn no margin on the material; we earn an annual fee and a performance-based component.

We already know the companies that fit. Your job is to convince them, and to guide them through a decision process that runs about six months with us. Packaging is rarely their most urgent topic – getting it onto the agenda anyway is your work. The pipeline is built on the phone; inbound enquiries play a secondary role. You'll report to our Head of Sales.

Your Responsibilities

  • Cold calling (around 30 % of your time) – Roughly a day and a half per week, in fixed blocks and from a list prepared in HubSpot
  • Following up – Across a six-month decision path you stay on the topic, with a clear next step in every message
  • Conversations across every level – Operational buyer, head of purchasing, commercial director, managing director. Each level judges the same offer differently, and you can translate it for all of them
  • Qualification – Understand packaging spend, product range, contract terms and decision paths before either side invests real effort
  • Moving deals through the process – From potential assessment through proposal and objections to signature, with cleanly maintained stages
  • CRM as a working tool – Activities, meetings, next steps and loss reasons live in HubSpot, so the pipeline stays readable for the whole team
  • Handover and collaboration – Close alignment with Customer Success and the procurement team, so what we promise matches what we deliver
  • Forecast – Once a month, a dependable assessment of your pipeline for the Head of Sales

What You Bring

Must-have:

  • Persistence – The fifth contact attempt is part of the craft for you. You stay on it without becoming pushy
  • Conscientiousness – Meetings are prepared, notes exist, open questions come back answered
  • Structure – You plan your own week and hold your prospecting blocks even when operational work comes up
  • Process discipline – You work our sales process instead of inventing your own each time – and tell us where it doesn't work
  • Confidence on the phone – First contact doesn't cost you an effort of will
  • Commercial thinking – You're at home in purchasing logic, volumes and cost calculations, not just product features
  • At least two years of B2B sales experience with a product that needs explaining
  • Business-fluent German – our working and customer language is German

Nice-to-have:

  • English – a plus, not a requirement
  • Experience in purchasing, packaging, logistics or manufacturing
  • Experience with tenders and framework agreements
  • Confident with HubSpot or a comparable CRM

What We Offer

  • Base salary of EUR 40,000–60,000 – Depending on experience
  • We win as a team – Every employee shares in our sales success, with a share that depends on the role; the sales roles carry the highest. That's why there is no individual commission here, and nobody competes over accounts
  • References that carry weight – Customers across several industries you can name in a conversation
  • Hybrid work – Office in Leipzig, roughly 1x per week on site, EU workation by arrangement
  • Flexible hours – Trust-based working time; you plan your own week
  • Permanent contract from day one – With a six-month probation period
  • Internal coaching – Sales, communication, and packaging know-how
  • Team offsites – 2-3x per year

What Happens Next

Four steps, no assessment centres: a 15-minute introduction, a longer conversation with HR and the department, optionally a meeting with the team, then the decision. Fast and transparent – and no ghosting.
